Keem Bay, Achill Island, Co Mayo

Keem Bay, Achill Island, Co Mayo - Connaught's Wild Landscape
The remote strand at Keem Bay is perfectly sheltered by the dramatic heights of Croaghan and Moyteoge. It is accessed by a high road west into the Atlantic, and there are remnant signs of the area's historic past of booleying and currach fishing for basking sharks.

It is rightly described by Visit Achill as a "magnificent retreat from the 21st century"!
